Mikaela Rawson always knew she would build her own interior design firm. Golden Goose Design grew out of a lifelong passion for organization, composition, and the quiet satisfaction of a room that finally works.
She began studying interior design at BYU Idaho, and when the program was discontinued, she refused to let it stop her — continuing her education at The New York Institute of Art and Design while working full time. She went on to become a home staging manager, sharpening the practical, budget-aware instincts that now shape every project she takes on.
Today, Mikaela designs homes throughout Salt Lake City, Draper, Park City, Provo and the wider Wasatch Front. Her approach is collaborative from the first conversation: she listens closely, asks the questions other designers skip, and builds spaces around the way her clients genuinely live rather than how a magazine says they should.
Her signature aesthetic blends warm neutrals, natural texture and timeless proportion — restrained enough to age well, personal enough to feel like home from the first day.
Her design philosophy is simple but firm: never say no. Bold colors, unexpected pairings, unusual textures — if a client can picture it, her instinct is to find a way to make it work beautifully.
